Who We Are
This newsletter is led by Dr. Syra Madad, an infectious disease epidemiologist and a leader in both public health and healthcare. She holds a Doctor of Health Science degree with a specialization in Global Health, a Master’s in Biotechnology with a focus on biosecurity and biodefense, and various other degrees and certifications that reflect her commitment to advancing global health security.
As a trusted voice in science communication, she has been invited to share insights across major media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post and NPR to name a few, and to contribute to science documentaries on platforms like Netflix, Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. Her work has focused on outbreak preparedness and response, biothreats and health security.
Professionally, her experience spans leadership roles within the nation’s largest public healthcare system and advisory positions with international organizations like the World Health Organization. Through this platform, she aim’s to bring reliable, evidence-based health information to the forefront while amplifying the voices of those working tirelessly to protect public health.
